Eid ul Adha is a special celebration for Muslims all around the world. It is also called the Festival of Sacrifice. This festival shows us the importance of faith, devotion, sacrifice and being kind to others. Even though Eid ul Adha is celebrated everywhere it looks especially beautiful in Kolkata. Here tradition, culture and emotions come together in an happy atmosphere.

The story of Eid ul Adha is about Prophet Ibrahim. He trusted God so much that he was willing to do what God asked even if it was hard. God asked him to sacrifice his son, Prophet Ismail.Just before Prophet Ibrahim could do it God said it was okay to sacrifice a ram instead. This story teaches us about faith, sacrifice being patient and trusting in God.

In Kolkata Eid ul Adha makes the city come alive. The streets are filled with lights people praying, markets and friends meeting up. From Park Circus to Rajabazar and near Nakhoda Mosque where you can feel the excitement in the air. Early in the morning people wear their clothes and go to mosques to pray. They hug each other and say “Eid Mubarak” with big smiles.

The streets of Kolkata during Eid ul Adha are so pretty. Small tea stalls are busy with people chatting and laughing. Vendors sell fun things like caps, nice smells (atar), sweets and traditional clothes. The smell of food like biryani and kebabs fills the air.

One of the important things people do during Eid ul Adha is Qurbani or sacrifice. Some families sacrifice goats, sheep or cows to remember Prophet Ibrahim’s devotion.

It’s not just about the sacrifice. It’s about being kind and giving up things that’re not good for us. In Kolkata people share meat with their relatives, neighbors and those who need it. This makes everyone feel happy and part of the celebration. It also reminds us to be kind and fair to everyone.

Kolkata is a city with people from different backgrounds. During Eid people from religions and communities visit their Muslim friends and neighbors. They exchange greetings and food. Eid becomes a celebration not of religion but also of being friends and living together in harmony. This is what makes Kolkata so special. Everyone gets along is kind to each other.

The evenings of Eid ul Adha in Kolkata are especially fun. The streets are lit up with decorations. Children run around in their clothes laughing and playing. Families sit on rooftops and balconies sharing stories and food. Around College Street and central Kolkata the old city feels magical and emotional.

Eid ul Adha also reminds us to help those who’re not as lucky. Many people and organizations give food, clothes and money to those who need it. This kindness is what Eid ul Adha is really about being kind, generous and loving.

In conclusion Eid ul Adha is a festival of sacrifice. It’s also a celebration of faith, kindness and being together. In Kolkata it looks especially beautiful. Through prayers, charity, food, lights and happiness; Eid ul Adha brings people together. It spreads a message of peace, sacrifice and being kind, to others.
