Anchor Text

Anchor Text or link text is a visible, clickable text or links. It usually appears in a different color and underlined than the surrounding text.

Anchor text can provide both search engines and users relevant contextual information about the content of the links destination. Search Engine Optimization (SEO) friendly anchor text is relevant to the target page.

What is a link?

Link or Hyperlink act as a connection between one site to another site. It is a highlighted, underlined word or button that is clickable. After clicking the link, another website or page open based on the link description. It is an easy and convenient way to lead your readers to the target websites. For example: “If you Click here you land in iPub Pro web page.”

Hyperlinks can assume any of the following appearances:

  • Text
  • Images
  • URLs
  • Controls (for example, a button)

Types of Links:

Inbound Link:-

When other website link back to your site or webpage is known as Inbound link. It also knows as Backlinks. Inbound links are helpful when you want the audience check your website and work from some other websites. The person receiving the link is the one who refers to a link as a backlink. It can help you higher in search.

Inbound links composed in two parts:

  1. The link of your site, which is the URL of your website.
  2. The anchor text which is highlighted and underlined in blue.

Outbound Link:

It is a link, which connect a webpage of website to another website. In easy words, a link which is meant to take you somewhere else i.e. different website. You can add such links to provide a reference for facts, studies, or statistics. Providing a link to the original study adds more credibility to your content.

You may also need to add link when you add images from another website and need to give credit.
