I have just reached the office and am just sitting on my seat. I am breathing very fast because I am very tired. Since the lift is not working, I have come up the stairs. As I reached my seat, I said, oh, thank God I am here finally. ” My colleague sitting behind me asked “what happened? Who are you talking to and you look very tired today? I said nothing. Today after reaching the office, I feel as if I have done something very big.
She asked, why is this so? I said with a tired voice “This morning didn’t start well. I woke up late due to which I could not eat anything and had to come to the office hungry. There was so much traffic on the way that I got late and now my head is also aching. And now after coming here so many pending files, mails and calls ohh, it feels like I’m having a very bad day. I can’t figure out where to start.
Then my friend said, “It’s okay, it’s nothing new. It happens, and after a while, some of your tension will subside.” I looked at my friend with a tired face and asked, “Well, what’s going to happen?” She said, “It’s nothing special, it’s the same thing that happens every day. But you will feel quite relaxed”
We were chatting when the office boy greeted me with a good morning and placed a cup of hot tea in front of me. Seeing the tea, I thought at least something good had happened. This is my most awaited time in the office, Tea time. The tea smells great with the ginger and cardamom flavour.
I put down the pending work in my hand. I took off my glasses and took my tea and sat comfortably. The smell of the tea was very calming and soothing. With the tea in my hand, my tension had reduced a bit. The pending files and other pending work was still in front of my eyes, but it did not seem pending. I was able to feel some peace.
I was drinking each sip with such ease and peace, it felt like I was missing this tea all morning. Anyway, after drinking tea, stress is reduced a bit because it contains caffeine, which helps lower your stress levels and relaxes you.
My friend asked me how I was feeling. I looked at her and asked, “You were talking about tea right? She smiled and said “I know your tea addiction ” then we both laughed and chatted a bit until the tea was finished then went on with our work.
Well, it is a cold December morning, so the enjoyment of tea is double, but my love for tea does not change according to the weather, whether it is the cold of December or the heat of May; tea has its own established place. For me, tea is a “cup of peace” rather than a cup of tea.
