The strange habit of looking for mistakes whenever I read something urged me to work as an editor. Currently, as a freelance editor, I have been assisting various publishing houses to refine their manuscripts before shaping them into books. Having spent almost a decade in this industry, I understand the changes and results that the publishers look for. I try to understand the point of views of both the authors and the publishers before working towards making the manuscripts print worthy. I work mostly on non-fiction manuscripts, especially books related to higher education, research works, technical issues, and likewise.
My past experiences include working as an associate editor with Cengage Learning; an assistant editor with Wiley India Pvt. Ltd.; a project manager with Aptara Corp. (TechBooks, Inc.) and a copyeditor with Thomson Digital (India Today Group). In more than five years of direct industry association, I have worked in multiple editorial roles on a variety of books related to management, communication, social studies, engineering, medical and nursing, corporate training, children sci-fi, etc. For my professional developments in these years, I trained myself for proofreading, copywriting, and production editing.
