Saturday: Celebration of Weekend

Saturday brings a vibe that says, “do what makes you happy”

Ah, Saturday. The golden child of the week. It is the alarm for Sunday that tells you tomorrow will be full of cozy breakfasts, spontaneous plans, no deadlines, no meetings, just vibes and and that sweet sense of freedom,Whether it’s brunching with friends, hitting the gym, binge-watching a show, or doing absolutely nothing, Saturday is the reward we’ve earned after the hustle.

But just as quickly as it arrives, it starts to slip away.

It’s Saturday, 4:30 PM and I am in my office right now. Today all employees are in casual dress, jokes, laughs, and happy faces are everywhere. Today I am also in a happy mood, excited and more active than any other working day. Today I had my lunch peacefully, completed my task too fast, behaving happily with other colleagues, no frustrated mind and most important thing all the staff around me behaving the same. It’s all because of Saturday vibes. Every Saturday in the evenings the atmosphere of the office remains the same. Boss’s empty cabin  is  increasing our Saturday feelings even more.

We all know in a few hours we will log out our id, shutdown our Laptops and then run out towards our most awaited Saturday evening. Almost everybody has their plans for Saturday evenings. Saturdays are more valuable than Sundays. Because Saturday is happy about Sunday’s arrival and Sunday is sad about Monday’s arrival.

And after this joyful Saturday, Monday comes, the mood swings of the week. It knocks on our doors way too early, often with a side of anxiety and a to-do list a mile long. Emails pile up, calendars overflow, and the pressure hits hard. That carefree Saturday version of us? Gone. Monday demands our professional, focused, and often stressed-out shelves.

So, It is 7 am right now. My alarm has tried to wake me up many times. I am awake but I don’t feel like getting up from the bed. I don’t feel good thinking that Saturday is still 5 days away and I also remember my pending office work, scolding of the boss, pressure of the work and late exit from the office. And these feelings are obvious because this is an unwanted Monday morning.

After all, the week is a cycle. Saturday will come again. But until then, let’s find balance in the chaos and remember: the joy of Saturday is that we made it through Monday.
